Week 34.
The
relief this week, number four in this mini series (see week 31), has I
feel, a particularly tranquil feeling. I don't think it needs the drama
of studio lighting to accentuate the relief, so I photographed it
in natural light.
Hopefully the music is just as calm, it uses four notes: C,E,G
and D, to emulate the four forms on the relief (again see week 31). I
tried to make my bowed double bass sound like a harmonium, maybe played
in a Scottish Chapel.
I broke my own rules and cheated slightly, by adding the sound module
drone, rather than playing it on double bass, but I felt it added so
much to this little piece that I have forgiven myself.
