Week 26. It
suddenly occurred to me this week that I had not composed a blues yet
for the project, however the blues that almost instantly
emerged is quite unlike "the blues". I started out using a wonderful
"Mini Moog Bass" sound module setting, I liked it so much that I composed
and played the whole thing using this one sound. I just love this
iconic sound, I find it as expressive as an acoustic instrument, and
it really shaped this music for me. I don't think the original instrument
was polyphonic but my proteus simulation is, and made this music much easier.
Even more than week 17, the music sounds obviously constructivist, but also
chaotic and lumbering, so I
tried to reflect all of that in the image. The image's tonality is an attempt
to lighten the mood because the music is so dark. I don't find the
music too oppressive, but just in case........
