Week 23. This weeks
music was
originally conceived as a double bass melody and a companion to week
14. However I soon found that I heard it being sung by a choir, I'm
sorry that it is a virtual choir, but I couldn't get King's College
Choir at this notice. I suppose that in a sense it still is a companion
to week 14, just not in the way I first imagined.
The
image to accompany the choir is painted on the back of a piece of
hardboard, that
is what gives it it's canvas like quality. It is great fun painting
onto this surface, it soaks the paint up, almost like blotting
paper! I like the overtly matt finish and the way the
surface refuses to be completely covered. This is one of my smallest
paintings yet and seems almost representational, please believe me
it's not!
